Charles A. Hartman Fine Art is pleased to present Fish-Work Europe by Portland-based artist Corey Arnold. This exhibition, Arnold's second solo show at Hartman Fine Art, documents Arnold's journey aboard commercial fishing boats exploring the ports and people that work in the business of fish. Inspired by his own experience as a long time commercial fisherman in Alaska, Arnold documents the current state of fish in the old country first hand. He spent five months on the road in nine different European countries including more then 15 trips at sea aboard vessels of all sizes living amongst fishermen in their natural habitat. These photos are an exploration in progress, the next chapter of the Fish-Work series which documents the lifestyle of the commercial fisherman throughout the world.

A graduate of the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Corey Arnold lives and works in Portland, Oregon the nine months of the year that he is not fishing. His work has been exhibited worldwide.  Recent publications featuring Arnold's work include the Juxtapoz Photo Book, Esquire, The Sunday Telegraph, Rolling Stone, Outside, The Paris Review, and PDN's 30.

Corey Arnold's first monograph, Fish-Work: The Bering Sea, will be published this winter Nazraeli Press in association with Charles A. Hartman Fine Art. Signed copies will be available during the show.
